Birdies
Birdies are called many name including shuttles and shuttle-cocks. They were called birdies because originally they had feathers on the back for guidance; now those feathers are replaced by plastic. They are labeled in three different groups, fast, slow and medium. The colors are usually green for slow(junior high, middle school), blue for medium (high school) and red for fast (professional, adults).
Prices usually range from about $2.00 up
each, so be prepared
to
pay quite a bit if you break too many.
